Russia 2018 World Cup: Brazil Draw 1-1 With Switzerland, Their First Opening Match Draw In 40 Years

Brazil had a feel of what it is like not to win the opener at the World Cup for the first time in 40 years after they drew 1-1 with Switzerland in their first Group E match.
Early into the game, the European side witnessed a brilliant strike from the Tite-lead team's Coutinho Philippe who curled a right-footed shot from 20-yard through to the post for the opening goal in 20th minutes.

The equaliser from the Swiss was frowned upon by his opponents for having to have pushed Joao Miranda before lifting up for a header but the referee ruled it to be a goal.
There were efforts to change the score-line by Brazil but all attempts proved futile through to full time.
The last time Brazil drew in the opening match was against Italy in 1978 World Cup In Argentina.
They will face in the next match Costa Rica as Switzerland will take on Serbia on Friday.
