Real Madrid are set to offer a new contract that is worth £425,000 per week to Cristiano Ronaldo amidst his agremment to pay £16.7 million to settle issues of tax evasion with Spanish authorities.
The Portugal international reportedly has admitted to the charges levelled against for evading tax by the authorities, and the above stated amount is aimed at resolving the issue with the government.
The new contract he has been offered by hus club comes with bonuses per season to the tune of about £6.45 million, which in break down means he stands to get £1.75 million for winning the Champions League, £1.32 million for winng league title amongst others.
The upward review of the Portuguese wages is an attempt to keep him at the club as he has many times complained about his salary being lesser than his counterparts.
Barcelona and Argentine star Lionel Messi earns £673,000-a-week while Paris St-Germain forward Neymar Jr takes on £619,000-a-week in wages, compared to what the Real forward is earns - currently he's paid £350,000-a-week which is less than half of Messi's.
