The world number 34 surprisingly defeat Roger Federer in the final to win his career's first ever title at Halle Open.
Borna brilliantly delivered a stunning match victory which he well dominantly over the Swiss whom he took down in three sets by 7-6(8-6), 6-3, 6-2 after over two hours of play.
Federer's bid to win his 10th title at Halle Open to hold on to ATP world No. 1 ranking saw an unforeseeable end with the Croatian, who first overpowered the Swiss at a tie-break at the opening set, and made a stunning comeback into the game at the deciding set after dropping the second set to the 20-time Grand Slam winner, knocking him out convenient to the first ever title.
This is the first time Federer will be losing in three encounters with Croatian bringing their ATP FedEx Head2Head count to 2:1.
