Gerry Weber Open 2018: Roger Federer Closes In On Winning 12th Title, Beats Denis Kudla To Reach Final
Roger Federer has won his 21th consecutive grass-court match after beating Denis Kudla to reach the final at Gerry Weber Open in Germany.
The world number one was engaged in a tough match with the American who at the opener, forced the Swiss to a tiebreak before he managed to get through to win the set.
The 20-time Grand Slam champion came in stronger at the second set in spite of showing some rustiness at the opener, and at the fourth game saved two break points before proceeding to knock out the 25-year-old in a match that lasted for an hour and half.
Federer remained unbeaten by the American who he last played against at Masters 1000 Indian Well in 2012 which he won in straight sets by 6-4 6-1.
The 36-year-old has moved closer to winning his 12th title at the tournament, and will face in the final Croatian Borna Coric.
