French Open 2018: Alexander Zverev Loses To Dominic Thiem As The Austrian Reaches Semi-final
It was a great day for Austria's Dominic Thiem made most of the quater-final match with his German counterpart Alexander Zevrev and won to reach the semi finals of the tournament at Roland Garros.
Dominic, 24, who was beaten at the final of Madrid Open by Zverev, had the day on Philippe-Chatier court, as he dominated the match amd led in straight three sets by 6-4 6-2 6-1.
Zevrev started off strong at the opener which he yet dropped to Dominic, and later into the second he had issue with his left leg leading to his loss of momentum and aggression whilst the seventh seeded Austrian kept his shots going with excellence using of his backhand and slices to get the the German to drop points.
Having won his 25th clay-court match this year, Dominic will face in the semi final either Novak Djokovic or Marco Cecchinato.
