French Grand Prix: Lewis Hamilton Regains World Championship Lead, Claims His First Win At Circuit Paul Ricard In 10 Years
Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton has regained the world championship lead after winning the race at Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet, France on Sunday.
The Briton who won his 75 pole to claim the all-time most pole position on Saturday, cruised through from start to the finish line to win his first French GP in 10 years, as Red Bull's Max Verstappen finished in second place and Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen made podium position in third place.
Meanwhile, starting off was not that pleasant for Hamilton's rival Sebastian Vettel who had a collision with Valterri Bottas at the first turn and was penalised five second for the incident.
As a result of the collision, the German gave up the race challenge to his Mercedes' rival who sped off onward to the finish line.
Hamilton now leads the championship with 145 points, staying clear by 14 points ahead of Sebastian Vettel who followed in second place.
