Fever-Tree Championships 2018: Nick Kyrgios Beats Edmund Kyle To Reach Quarter-finals
British no. 1 Edmund Kyle has been defeated by entertaining Australian player Nick Kyrgios to reach the quarter-finals at the Queen's Open.
Edmund forced the Australian to drop the second set after losing the opener, and in spite of that he was overpowered at the deciding set after the world no. 21 break the set at 3-1 and proceeded to win the match in three sets by 7-6 (7-3), 6-7 (5-7), 6-3.
This is first time both players will be meeting at a tournament which ended in the favour of the Australian.
Speaking after the match, Nick said in admission that it was a "high-quality match," and that he "knew today was going to be tough" having played with the Briton at junior level.
Nick, 23, will face in next match either Great Britain's Neal Skupski or his compatriot Lleyton Hewitt.
