Premier League: Stoke City Relegate After 1-2 Defeat To Crystal Palace
Stoke City's days in the Premier League just come to an end for now until another season after 1-2 home defeat to Crystal Palace.
There was hope of remaining in the League when Xherdan Shaqiri sent the hosts in the lead with an opener from a free-kick late into the first half in 43rd minutes.
The visitors (Crystal Palace) soon responded to lead after a fast break as Ruben Loftus-Cheek laid a pass to James McArthur who stroke a left-footed shot home for an equaliser in 68th minutes, and late into the game, Patrick van Aanholt punished Stoke's erroneous backpass from Ryan Shawcross with a shot through Jack Butland's legs to the post in 86th minutes.
Unfortunately, the game defeat sealed Stoke City's fate of relegation after 10 years of play in the Premier League.
