Madrid Open: Kyle Edmund beats David Goffin To Reach First Ever Masters 1000 Quarter Final
Kyle Edmund has reached his career first ever Masters 1000 quater-final after he successfully defeat David Goffin in the third round of the Madrid Open on Thursday.
The Briton, who beat former world no.1 Novak Djokovic to reach the third round, conveniently thrashed the Belgian in straight sets 6-3 6-3 to reach the quarter final after 73 minutes of play.
Kyle will face Canada's Denis Shapovalov who defeated his compatriot and country's no. 1 Milos Raonic in straight sets 6-4 6-4.
Speaking about meeting the British no. 1 in the quarter-final Denis said, "I have another tough match against Kyle tomorrow...I'm definitely expecting a tough match tomorrow. It's going to be good tennis. We're both playing extremely well. It's you g to be fun."
