Madrid Open: Alexandra Zverev Beats Dominic Thiem To Claim Third Masters 1000 Title

Germany's Alexander Zverev wrapped up his ninth consecutive match win with the second tour-level title of the year as he defeated Austria's Dominic Thiem in the final of the Mutua Madrid Open.
The 21-year-old impressively took down Dominic who defeated world no. 1 Rafael Nadal, in straight sets 6-4 6-4 for his career third Masters 1000 title.
Alexander showed the class of player he made of and overpowered the Austrian with his powerful backhand, serves and slices that put the world no. 7 in defensive each time he strikes with his powerful forehand and missile-like groundstrokes.
The German eventually sealed the victory for his fifth career trophy, dominating the match and using his serves to his advantage when the game deuced which Dominic hit wide in forehand return, as he moved on to claim his first title in Madrid.
In FedEx ATP head-to-head count, the Austrian leads as he has won four matches out of their six encounters.
