French Open 2018: Serena Williams Reaches Third Round, Beats Australia's Ashleigh Barty
American tennis ace Serena William made a remarkable comeback to beat Australian Ashleigh Barty and reached the third round at Roland Garros.
The Australian had the upper hands from the start and she won the opener before the American soon picked up on her momentum and overpowered the 17th seed to top three sets by 3-6 6-3 6-4 on Court Philippe-Chatrier.
Bartier was fantastic with her forehand but conceded to the 23-time Grand Slam winner who dealt a blow on her with powerful groundstrokes and backhand cutting deep into the court, and as the Australian confessed after the match saying, "I think when push came to shove, the real Serena came out...that's one of her assets is. when her back is against the wall, the best comes out."
Serena will face in her next fixture German player Julia Gorges who defeated Belgian Alice van Uytvanck in straight sets 7-5 7-6(5).
