Championship Play Off Final: Fulham Beat Aston Villa 0-1 To Get Promoted To Premier League
After four years in relegation, Fulham are back to the Premier League after beating Aston Villa 0-1 in the final of the Championship play off final on Saturday.
Fulham's captain Tom Cairney led his team to the Premier League after about twenty minutes of play but had to play one man down late into the match as Deni Odoi was red carded for a foul on Villa's Jack Grealish in 70th minutes.
Cairney, 27, netted the decisive goal for Fulham after Ryan Sessegnon set him off with a through pass to the right flank of the box and he drilled a left-footed shot through to the bottom left of the post for the winning goal in 23rd minutes.
In 2014, Fulham relegated from the Premier League after finished second to the least in the table with 32 points above Cardiff which finished in the bottom with 30 points.
