BAFTA Awards 2018: Rio Ferdinand Holds Back Tears As He Pays Tribute To Late Wife Rebecca Ellison, See Full List Of Winners


It was yet another glorious night for the highs and lows in entertainment industry as the came out enmass to the British Academy Television Awards ceremony which was held at the Royal Festive Hall in London on Sunday.
The event which was hosted by Sue Perkins was an emotional night for former Manchester United player Rio Ferdinand who won the Single Documentary award for "Being Mum and Dad" - a film he made in memory of his late wife Rebecca Ellison.
Rio, 39, nearly burst into tears as he stood on the podium for his acceptance speech as he paid tribute to Rebecca who died of cancer in 2015 and also thanked Kate Wright - his girlfriend.
"I'm normally quite used to picking up trophies," he said nearly hurting into tears "Thanks to BAFTA and all the other nominees, but also to BBC for believing in the project, all you guys at New Era, the management team, it's being quite a whirlwind experience."
Amongst top winners was Molly Windsor from 'Three Girls' who won Best Actress award over Claire Foy from Netflix's series 'The Crown'.
Sean Bean won Best Actor for 'Broken and BBC's Peaky Blinders won Best Drama Series.
