Avengers: Infinity War Nets $1.164B At Global Box Office, Becomes Fastest Ever In History
Avengers: Infinity War has proven to be yet another successful film for Marvel/Disney, as it becomes the fastest grossing film at global box office, setting a new record for the $1 billion benchmark.
The Anthony and Joe Russo directed superhero film netted a gross of $1.164 billion globally in just eleven days, also topped at the box office for second weekend with a gross of $112.47 million, dropping 54% from it opening weekend, which now brings it domestic gross to whooping $450.8 million.
In the international market, it collected $112.6 million over the weekend and that gives it a gross of $713.3 million in it eleventh day.
Infinity War toppled previous 12-day record set for the benchmark by Walt Disney's Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015 which is still third in all-time biggest films ever in the global market - it ranked behind Titanic (no. 2 $2.187B) and Avatar (no. 1 $2.788B).
More so, it currently stand in fifteenth position in all-time biggest grossing film at the global box office, toppling record set by Captain America: Civil War (no. 17 $1.153 billion), Transformer: Dark of the Moon (no. 18 $1.123B), The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (no. 19 $1.119B), The Dark Knight Rises (no. 22 $1.085 billion).
