Arsenal In Talks With Mikel Arteta To Replace Arsene Wenger
Arsenal, reportedly will be holding a meeting with former club's star and Manchester City's assistant coach Mikel Arteta on Thursday, as the club is expected to make him Arsene Wenger's successor.
The Spaniard, 36, is speculated to be set to make more than £50 million in transfer deal from City, if the meeting with Arsenal executives in charge hiring a manager went well, according to Sky Sports.
The former midfielder reportedly will be allowed to choose his own staff, as Arsenal are keen to ensuring they have a new manager before the 2018 World Cup kicks off in June.
Arteta joined Arsenal from Everton in 2008 and became club's captain in 2014. He scored 14 goals in 114 appearances with the club before leaving in 2016, and proceeded to join Pep Guardiola as assistant coach at Manchester City.
