Saudi Arabia To Reopen Cinema In Riyadh With Screening Black Panther, As It Targets Annual Ticket Revenue Of $1bn
Saudi Arabia is set to reopen it cinema in the capital Riyadh in two weeks, after it has been closed for 35 year and will screen Black Panther first upon opening.
The Kingdom has awarded the contract of opening 40 cinrmas across it cities an American entertainment company AMC - it will start will the opening of the one in the capital first.
The counry which has a population of 32 million people, targeted running about 350 cinema with 2,500 screens across it cities by 2030 which has the potential of generating $1bn annually from ticket sales.
Accorsing ti statemwnt from the Kingdom's Culture and Information Minister Awwad Alawwad, the move is intended to boost the economy and created employment.
"The restoration of cinemas will ... help boost the local economy by increasing household spending on entertainment while supporting job creation in the Kingdom,' he said.
