Grigrov, 26, came into the game strong, puttung Nadal to test with deep ball and held him to a break 4-4 at the first set.
The reigning world no.1 soon gathered momentum and won seven straight games, capitalising on the Bulgarian forehand errors to win the first set.
The second set did not come with much pressure from the Bulgarian who was soon overpowered by the Spaniard for his 34th consecutive win on a clay-court.
The winning the final is crucial to keep Spaniard in the ATP no. 1 ranking, and a defeat would mean he drops to no. 2 and Roger Federer overtakes him.
