Monte Carlo Masters: Rafael Nadal Reaches Semi-Final After Beating Dominic Thiem Comfortably In Quater Final
Austria's Dominic Thiem had a terrible day with World no. 1 Rafael Nadal who got him ousted out in the quarter final to reach his 13th semi-final at Monte Carlo Masters.
Nadal took down the Austrian who defeated Novak Djokovic in straight sets 6-0 6-2 which lasted for just 68 minutes.
The Spaniard, 33, had said in his speech after winning his opening match that he hoped to make this tournament his "first finish of the year."
Of course, winning the Monte Carlo Master would make it his 11th title at the event, and it is important for him and retain the top seed spot otherwise chances are Roger Federer overtakes him once again.
