Monte Carlo Masters: Novak Djokovic Wins Second Round After Tough Match With Borna Ciroc
Novak Djokovic had a tough second round match with Borna Ciroc but managed to reach the third round after gaining points to win the Croatian.
The two-time clay champion took down Ciroc after two straight sets 7-6(2), 7-5 that lasted for two hours sixteen minutes, and will meet Australian Dominic Thiem in the third round.
The Croatian saved points several times at the sets especially in the matches at the second set until the 12-time major single winner managed to control the tie-break and took him down in the second set.
The Serb, 31, will have to up in third round match with fifth seed Thiem who beat him in straight set at their last enconter in 2017. Nonetheless, he leads the Australian in FedEx ATP heat-to-head count by 5-1.
