Miami Open: American John Isner Beats Alexander Zverev, Wins Career First Ever Masters 1,000 Title

John Isner has won his first ever Masters 1,000 title after beating Alexander Zverev in the final of the Miami Open on Easter Sunday.
The 33-year-old overtook the German after losing in the tie-break in the first but gained momentum and broke two sets later to win 6-7(4) 6-4 6-4, after fighting through for two and a half hour.
Winning the title, moved Isner up in ranking from from no. 17 to his all-time best no. 9, making him America's men's tennis no. 1. 
"To win like that in front of a crowd like that, with that atmosphere, you can't replicate. It's was absolutely amazing...I never thought I would be in this moment considering how I was playing coming into this event," he said.
I'm addition, Isner is the oldest first-timer Masters title winning male player in ATP World tour history.
