Deontay Wilder Offers $50m Plus 50/50 Split To Anthony Joshua
Deontay Wilder and his promoter have presented a guaranteed offer of $50m upfront and 50/50 split deal to Anthony Joshua and want him and his promoter Eddie Hearn to confirm offer within 24 hours.
Eddie confirmed he has received an offer via an email to secure a fight between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder with dates chosen to be between "September and December."
"We got an email from Deontay Wilder's personal wma address offering us a 50-50 split with a guarantee of $50m (£35.9m)," he revealed to Sky Sports.
Eddie and Joshua do not want the offer to be just a media stunt but Wilder's promoter Shelly Finkel assured in an interview with Sky Sports, it is a guaranteed offer and it is not a stunt.
"We want [Joshua] to fight Deontay in his next fight and we offered him $50m...Al Haymon and I have never not deliver what we've offered," he assures.
"We were offered $12.5m (£8.8) to fight him but we have offered four times that. If he says he is not going to take $50m it means he doesn't really want to fight him next," Finkley said.
Wilder has also called out to his British opponent in a video posted to his Instagram account in which Joshua in response accepted to fight him for $50m upfront.
The two boxers' promoters - Eddie Hearn and Shelly Finkel reportedly will meet on Friday regarding the offer presented by Deontay Wilder.
