Akani Simbine has won gold medal in the Men's 100m race at the Commonwealth Games in Australia.
The Simbine, 24, took down the world fastest man Yohane Blake in 10.03sec for the first major title in his caeer, as his compatriot Henricho Bruintjies finished in second position in 10.17sec for silver medal and the Jamaican got a bronze medal.
The reigning men's 100m champion blamed he poor outing on stumbling through the start and could not get it right onto the touch line.
"I was stumbling all the way and I didn't recover from it," he said "I'm disappointed because I've been feeling good. I didn't get the start and I was all over the place."
