Champions League: Marco Asensio Nets Winning Goal As Real Madrid Defeat Bayern Munich 1-2 in Semi-Final 1st-Leg Tie
Real Madrid came from behind and took down their German counterparts Bayern Munich in 1-2 away win in the semi-final first-leg tie.
In just about half an hour of play, Munich got an opener through Joshua Kimmich who drilled a shot from the centre of the box to the post in 28 minutes, before Real later equalized through Marcelo who powered a left-footed volley from the edge of the 18-yard box to the post in 44th minutes.
After the break, Real surged into the lead after Munich's Rafinha mistakingly cleared out the ball to Lucas Vazquez (Real) and he laid a pass through to Marco Asensio who moved in on the ball and lobbed it over Munich's keeper for the second and winning goal in 57th minutes.
The Spaniard would have had a wider margin had Cristiano Ronaldo's goal in 72nd minutes was not disallowed for foul control of the ball before drilling it to the post.
However, Real Madrid now lead on aggregate of 2-1 and will host Munich in the semi-final second-leg tie on May 1st.
