Barcelona Open: Rafael Nadal Reaches Semi Final After Tough Match With Martin Klizan
Slovakia's Martin Klizan put Rafael Nadal to serious test in the quarter final and the world no. 1 managed not to drop a set and won to reach the semi final.
The Spaniard 42nd consecutive match win on a clay-court with dropping a set after a tough match that he win in straight set 6-0 7-5.
The first set was a cruise through for the top seed until the second set when the 28-year-old picked up on the game which almost went his way but the Spaniard recovered his form and took him down.
When asked about his views on the match with Klizan in an interview, Rafael admitted first set went well with him but things soon change in the second set.
"Good start for me, a quick one [in first set], and then second set every thing change. It was a very difficult set," he said in admission.
Klizan, who is a three-time clay-court champion, defeated Novak Djokovic in the second round and Feliciano Lopez to reach the quarter final of the Barcelona Open.
