It has been learned that Arsene Wenger did not just choose to step down as Arsenal manager but he was dismissed and paid £11 million severance fee as stipulated in his contract.
The Frenchman reportedly was forced out by the club's owner Stan Kroenke who is not pleased with the club's performance especially for not playing in the Champions League.

According to the
SunSport, the club desperately want to get back in Champions League and that is not forthcoming any time soon and they can not afford to carry on with him.

However, the club's CEO Ivan Gazadis, was not in support of Wenger dismissal and believed the club could by next season make the Champions League as they are in semi-final of the Europa League by which they could eventually return to the continental game.
