Manchester City are through to the quarter final of the Champions League on aggregate of 5-2 after losing 1-2 to FC Basel in the last-16 second-leg tie at Etihad stadium.
City had beaten the Swiss side 4-0 in the first-leg tie, and losing by the margin of 1-2 could not undo their qualification to the quarter final.
Danilo laid a low-cut cross to Gabriel Jesus who tapped in the ball from the centre of the box to put City in the lead in 7th minutes before Basel's Mohamed Elyounoussi put a goal back for an equaliser in 14th minutes.
Mohamed Elyounoussi pulled a volley from the centre of the box for Basel for an equaliser
After the break, Basel eventually got the winning goal from Michael Lang in 71th minutes.
City have not lose a match at home in a year but tonight defeat to the Swiss side in Champion League has no impact on their slot in the quarter final draw.
