Miami Open: Serena Williams Knocks Out In First Round By Japan's Naomi Osaka
Serena Williams struggles to pick up back on her form still persist as she was knocked out in the first round by Japan's Naomi Osaka at the Miami Open on Wednesday.
The 23-time grand slam champion was ousted out in straight two set 6-3 6-2 by the Seed no. 22.
Osaka moved up in ATP ranking from unseeded after the Indian Wells title in California which is her first maiden title since career began.
The 20-year-old who won her first career match with the American says she struggled with her emotion before coming out to play against her role model.
"I was extremely nervous coming on to the court," she admitted "I don't know if anybody knows this but Serena is my favourite player."
