BNP Paribas Open: Venus Beats Serena Williams In Third Round
Making a comeback has not been easy for Serena Williams, who was beaten by her sister Venus in third round at the Indian Wells.
Venus beat the 23-time Gram Slam title winner in straight two sets 6-3 6-4 in a match that lasted for over an hour at the Indian Wells.
However, Serena still deals Venus, 37, in heat-to-head win count with 17 wins out of 28 encounters.
The mother-of-one is making a comeback to the sport after 14 months of being out-of-action due to her pregnancy with her baby daughter Alexis Jr.
"It wasn't easy, obviously," Serena admitted to losing Venus in her comeback from child bearing "It was good to play and try to get in the rhythm and get into the swing again."
Venus would face Anastasija Sevastova in the round of 16 at the Indian Wells.
