Australian Grand Prix: Sebastian Vettel Wins Race Over Lewis Hamilton
Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel finished first ahead of his Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton in the final of the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.
The German took the lead over the season's defending champion Lewis, when his technical deployed the Virtual Safety Car at the 'free pit stop' giving him an advantage to speed off ahead.
The four-time champion clinched the finish line in 1:28:33:283s for the Australian title as Hamilton finished in second position in +5.036s and Finnish driver Raikkonen in third position.
On Saturday, Hamilton claimed the pole position at the qualifying round, but marvelled at his defeat to Sebastian not knowing a call for Virtual Safety Car from his technical team would give Ferrari a chance to finish ahead.
"I am in disbelief," Hamilton said in disappointment "I drove as well as I could and I didn't pit a foot wrong."
However, Sebastian, having won the race, has scored 25 point leading Hamilton who got 18 points from the race.
