Antonio Conte Says Chelsea "Were A Bit Unlucky" To Lose To "Clinical" Barcelona
Antonio Conte's take on Chelsea 3-0 defeat to Barcelona was that his team were just "unlucky" otherwise it would not have been.
On Wednesday, Chelsea were knocked out of the Champions League by Barcelona as Lionel Messi was unstoppable for his defence - he scored scored twice to complete his 100th goal in Champions League.
He maintained the team have nothing to moan about the game.
"We have no regrets. If you watch the game, the final result is unfair," Conte said.
Given his reasons, the 48-year-old Italian admitted Messi was spectacular and Barcelona were "very clinical", but maintained his side created many chances which they did not seize to make goal out of.
"We are talking about the best player in the world," Conte talked about Messi "He scores 60 goals every season. He is a super top player. Barcelona were very clinical."
"We were a bit unlucky. I think we created many chances but we didn't take them. I must be very proud about my players, they gave everything and we have to continue in this way."
Chelsea which are fifth in the table behind Tottenham, now have to fight for a place in the top four of the Premier League to make a slot in the Champions League next season.
