90th Academy Awards: Gary Oldman Describes Winning Best Actor Award As "Wonderful Gift", Salutes The Character Played Winston Churchill
Gary Oldman, the British actor who starred as Winston Churchill in 'Darkest Hour' won his first ever Oscar awards and to him winning Oscars is like a "wonderful gift".
"I've lived in America for the longest time and I'm deeply grateful to the loves and the friendship.i have made and a wonderful gift it has given me," Gary said in his acceptance speech.
The 59-year-old added had won globe and Bafta award for playing Winston Churchill in 'Darkest Hour' and an Oscar made it his third award for the film.
He also extend his gratutude to the character he played, who he described as a "marvellous company" for being "fantastic".
"I would just like to salute Sir Winston Churchill who has been marvellous company in what can be described as a fantastic journey."
Gary was nominated in 2012 for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy but missed out before winning his first on Sunday night.
