PyeongChang Winter Olympics: Shawn White Makes History With Third Games Gold Medal In Men's Snowboard Halfpipe

The United States' Shawn White has attained a remarkable feat in the Games having won gold medal in the snowboard halfpipe on Tuesday, he became the first athlete with such achievement in the sport history.
The 31-year-old brilliant performance at the final that scored him 97.75 points for the gold medal ahead of Japan's Ayumu Hirano who won silver medal and Australian Scott James who got the bronze medal.
Hirano was in the lead until the final run when Shawn scored near perfect point that moved up for the top prize.


Speaking in an interview after he won, he described how he managed to put all he has got from his experience "whole life" into it.
"I looked down at the pipe and said to myself, 'you know you've got this. It'swhat you've done your while life...because you might just win the Olympics," he said.
There has not been any time in the sport when an athlete has won three gold medal in snowboarding years apart until Shawn White.
