PyeongChang Winter Olympics: Pierre Vaultier Retains Games Gold Medal Title In Men's Snowboard Cross
Frenchman Pierre Vaultier narrowly beat Australian Harry's Hughes to claim second Olympic gold medal in men's snowboard cross at Phoenix Snow Park in PyeongChang.
The five-time World Cup Champion retained the title four years ago, as he managed to reach the final in spite of the three-man crash he was involved in at the semi-final.
At the final, Hughes came in strong but was edged out by the 30-year-old Frenchman to the second place for silver medal and Spain's Regino Hernandez finished third for bronze.
Vaultier admitted the medal meant a great deal to him compared the one he won in 2014, when make the Games after recovering from injury two months and won gold medal yet.
"The first one was incredible," talking about 2014 Olympics "but this one means even more. It's a great second gold medal. I'm having trouble saying how I feel."
