PyeongChang Winter Olympics: Dom Parsons Wins Team GB's First Games Medal As South Korea Yun Sung-bin Wins Historic Gold Medal In Skeleton
Team GB's Dom Parsons broke medal drought for his country in men's Skeleton final as he finished with a bronze medal in PyeongChang.
Parson finished behind Russia's Nikita Tregubov who finished second for silver medal and South Korean Yun Sung-bin who finished quickest to win first gold medal.
The 30-year-old would have fnished in fourth position but Latvian Martins Dukur and five on the lower part of the course lost time which gave the Brit the position for his country's Games medal and first from the sport in 70 years.
Parson admitted he initially had lost hope of winning a medal as he said in an interview "I thought I'd binned it."
However, the South Korean, 23, has become the first athlete from Asian Pacific and also outside of Europe and North America to have won an Olymoic medal from the sport.
Yun, speaking after he won the medal, expressed his delight at the medal saying, "getting the gold here in my home country is a very great honour."
