The 17-year-old gave a stunning performance to make 87.16 points at the final, shoving behind Canadian Max Parrot and Norway's Mark McMorria for silver and bronze respectively.
The Norwegian and Canadian were initially tipped for top medals until the teenager started of skiing beautifully over the staring post, went perfectly on to finish with an impressively backside tripe cork 1440 landing.
Canada's Parrot did impressively but losses by few points to Ed, and Norway's McMorria could not finish well having fell on his back at the final.
"I just look for different lines," Ed said speaking after a successful skiing "I thought [considering taking easy lines] but then realised my trick over [When taking the second jump], going straight over, isn't as good so I probably would have fourth or fifth. So, I might as well try and do good."
Ed at the final was cheered on by the huge American supporters as he looked a bit remorse and eventually turned out fine for him.
