Patrice Evra Joins West Ham On Free Transfer
Marseille's sacked left-back Patrice Evra, has completed free move to Premier League West Ham, in a contract that would last until the end of the season.
On Wednesday, the Frenchman completed his medical with the club at the Rush Green training complex in London, according to Sky Sports.
The 36-year-old was sacked from the French side following an altercation with fans, and was also ban by EUFA from all continental acitivies relating to the sport until June 30th, 2018.
Before signing to a free deal with West Ham, Everton was said to be linked to the player but he preferred a move to London instead.
Speaking about his new signing, Evra thanked the club management for giving him a chance to do his job once again.
"I'm really happy to be a Hammer, to be back in the Premier League," he said.
"I am thankful to West Ham for giving me the opportunity to do my job...thanks to West Ham, to the chairman, to the manager to all my teammates, who have given me a nice welcome."
The former Manchester United player who is assigned to Jersey no. 27, is set to debut for Hammer against Watford on February 10.
