Arsene Wenger Decries Ever Increasing Spending Of Europe's Top Leagues
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is having issues with rich clubs in Europe's top leagues, and the impact their fat financial purse is having on the sport.
Wenger blamed the unequal gaps between leagues table leaders and other teams in Europe, on "huge financial" advantage they have over others which in effect have soon title repeatedly being won by few clubs.
According to the BBC Sport, the Frenchman wants Uefa's Financial Fair Play rule to be invoked to address what he described as "financial doping".
"Unpredictability has gone down," he pointed out "When you look at the five big leagues in Europe, In December we already knew four champions."
Explaining what impact that has on the sport he said "that means something is not right in our game. The huge financial power...Is basically destroying the competition."
However, this may be true with game as Premier League clubs spent a total of £450 million in January window transfer out of which the big clubs alone coughed out £150 million.
