South Korean Hyeong Chung Beats Novak Djokovic At The Australian Open
Novak Djokovic was ousted out of the Australian Open by South Korean tennis ace Hyeong Chung, who beat the tournament's six-time champion after three hours 21 minutes of play.
In spite of having to deal with injury, the Serb gave the determined Korean player a good fight and in two set had to break-tie but eventually the 21-year-old won by 7-6 (7-4) 7-5 7-6 (7-3).
Chung made history to become the first Korean player to have reached the last eight at a Grand Slam and would meet Tennys Sandgren at the quarter-finals.
"I didn't know how I'd win this tonight. I was just honoured to played against Novak and happy to see him back on the tour," Chung said in an interview after the match.
Defeated Novak expressed his frustration with his injury and hope to get better as he intended to train harder and compete in next tour.
"I don't really know. It's frustrating, of course, when you have that much time and you don't heal properly [talking about his injury]," he admitted
" I enjoy getting myself better, hoping that I can get better, perform and compete."
