Jay-Z Seeks Trademark For Animated Character "Jaybo"
Hova's lead animated character "Jaybo" from his hit track "The Story Of O.J." will soon be exclusively own by the rapper's company following a draft filed to trademark the character.
According the TMZ, it was gathered that company own by the rapper/entrepreneur S. Carter Company, intended to have the "Jaybo" character printed on it clothing line and housewares - T-shirts, sweaters, hats, blankets, shams, dinnerware, mugs, cocktail shakers and thermal containers.
In that effect, the company has compiled legal documents to seek having "Jaybo" as one of its brands - the character which first appeared in children book as Sambo in 1899, was then widely criticised for being racist.
