Disney Adresses Allegations Of "Browning Up" Non Asian, Arabic Actors In Aladdin Remake
Having conceded to allegations hiring "white actors" to make up for the role of Arabian artists at the filming of live-action Aladdin, Disney has come out to address the issue which an Asian actor Kaushal Odedra has accused them of.
Odedra alleged Disney of playing down artist which of Asian origin but "browning up" their white counterparts actors to fit in.
According to the Metro, the 32-year-old accused the studios of portraying wrong messages to the public saying "...Experience amount to nothing that can be powered on and washed off."
Nonetheless, Disney address issues surround "making up" to use non-Asian or Arabic artists in Aladdin live-action remake and stated that it's important to include others when their specialty calls for it.
"Great care was taken to put together one of the largest, most diverse casts ever seen on screen...When it was a matter of specialty skills, safety and control( special effect rigs, stunt performers and handling of animals) were crew made up to blend in," they pointed out.
