Australian Open 2018: Roger Federer Wins 20th Grand Slam Title, Becomes Oldest Player To Win The Title In 46 Years

Roger Federer retained his Australian Open title after beating Marin Cilic at the final to claim his 20th Grand Slam title.
The 36-year-old Swiss had a tough match with the Croatian which lasted for over three hours before he won after playing five sets 6-2, 5-7, 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 and  has tallied the record set by Novak Djokovic for Australian Open with six title.
Having won the match which was highly energetic and ill-tempered, he became the oldest player to have ever won the Aussie Open in 46 years after Ken Rosewall.
At the first set, Marin was completed subdued by Federer's strong forehand and serves, but came strongly into the second set and resisted the Swiss's ace at tie-break to ensure he claimed victory at the set.
Federer returned in good shape in the third set and overpowered his opponent serves to claimed the third set out of his poor forehand, but could not follow that at the fourth set to quickly claim victory and lost the set until the fifth when it total overpowered Marin and swiftly won.
"I'm so happy. It's unbelievable. The fairytale continues for us, for me. After the great year I had last year. It's incredible. Marin had another great tournament. Been a long journey but well worthwhile," he said in an interview at the courtside.
