Premier League: Marcus Alonso's Free-Kick Gives Blues Eighth Straight WIn (Chelsea 1 0 Southampton)
Chelsea continued in their winning streak as the secured their eight straight match win after beating Southampton 1-0 at Stanford stadium on Saturday.
Blues have moved up in points to tally with their counterparts Manchester United which are in second position behind table leaders Manchester City.
Chelsea found their only goal that gave them the maximum points through Marcus Alonso's strike late before the break from a free-kick.
The host team did try to double their lead in the 69th minutes through Eden Hazard but Cesc Fabregas was unfortunately caught in offside position.
Alonso again tried to get a second in the 76th minutes with a header from centre of the box but it missed the post to the left.
Chelsea have now gone eight straight wins out of 10 matches played and will face Bournemouth on Dec 20th at Stanford Bridge stadium.
