Colin Kaepernick Gets TIME's Year Runner Up, Muhammad Alli Legacy Award, Promises To Keep Up His Struggle

Colin Kaepernick being the recipient of the Muhammad Alli Legacy Award couldn't havs been better for the former NFL quarterback.
The 28-year-old was also named TIME Person of the Year Runner Up, all seemed to be falling in place for the footballer who sparked the knee-protest in the NFL.
Since Jan. 1, he has been made redundant and has accused the league of having to collude against him for his mode of peaceful protest against injustice and authorities brutality against African American and other minority.
Speaking on the podium at the Muhammad Alli Legacy Awards, he attributed his passion for people as the reason behind his protest and for that he gladly accepted it.
"I accept this award not for myself but on behalf of the people. Because if it were not for my love of the people, I would not have protested. And if it was not for the support from the people, I would not be on this stage today," he said.
In spite of the joblessness inflicted on him for an attempt to correct what he perceived as wrong, he wanted to be even more committed to doing what he deemed right.
"With our without the NFL's platform, I will continue to work for the people because my platform is the people," Kaepernick said.
