Chelsea thrash Stoke City 5-0
Like Chelsea intended to wish their fans Happy New Year, by the manners they thrashed their opponents Stoke City 5-0 at Stanford Bridge.
Stoke weren't allowed much minutes of having to do some kick about before Chelsea's Antonio Rudiger headed in Willian's free-kick in 3rd miuntes.
The lead soon doubled when Danny Drinkwater from 25-yard, powered through to the post the second goal in the 9th minutes, and Pedro made it a third in the 23rd minutes.
However, Stoke had a goal through Biram Diouf cancelled as he was penalised for having to have controlled the ball with his upper arm.
It got really bad for the visiting side as Chelsea won a penalty which Willian converted in the 73rd minutes. and Davide Zappacosta completed the goals with the fifth in 88th minutes.
Chelsea have currently moved up to second place with 45 points ahead of Manchester United which have now in third position with 43 points, but if they won their game with Southampton would move back up to second position.
