Roman Abramovich Spends $96 Million To Buy Four Townhouses In A Row On The Upper East Side, New York
Russian steel tycoon and Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich is making it rain not water but cash-money over New York properties, as he has spent $96 million (£73.4 million) to buy four townhouses in a row in New York.
The tycoon planned turning three of the four townhouses in a row 9, 11,13 and 15 East 75th Street on the Upper East Side of New York, into one luxurious 18,000-square-foot resident, leaving one out for yet unclear purpose. He has long been planning to have a multimillion dollar mansion in New Year since 2014, when he bided for Fifth Avenue 15,000-square-foot Berwind Mansion which was declined and now, he took on the Upper East Side properties not disclosing his identity as the buyer.
According to Dailymail, the tycoon bought the 9, East 75th Street property four months after the plan presented to the LPC for the previous three have been approved.
Breaking down the cost of each of the properties, 9 East 75th Street is 13, 176-sqaure-foot property sold for $18 million; 11 East is 9,495-sqaure-foot sold for $29.7 million, 13 East is 8,116-square-foot sold for $30million and 15 East is 7,286-square-foot sold for $18.3 million.
