Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes Team Held Up And Robbed At Gunpoint In Interlagos, Sao Paulo
Formula One's four-time world title winner Lewis Hamilton, had his Mercedes team held up and robbed at gunpoint in Brazil on Friday night.
The incident happened not long after the Brit's Mercedes team left the interlagos circuit, in a minibus shuttle back to their hotel resident at about 22:00 local time.
According to sources, the bandit even threatened one of the team member with gun held to his head and made away valuables.
Hamilton also tweeted about the incident, calling out to the sport's management to do more on security and safety.
"Some of my team were help up at gunpoint last night leaving the circuit here in Brazil. Gun shots fired, gun help at ones head," he stressed " This happened every single year here. F1 and the teams need to do more, there's no excuse!"
No suspects have been arrested as the authorities of the host city Sao Paulo, reportedly said the robbery incident is yet to reach their desk.
