Jay-Z Blames Meek Mill's Prison Sentence On "The System Stalking Black People"
Support for the release of Meek Mill has not dropped a niche, as it continues to gain strength ever since the rapper has been sentence to two to four years in incarceration following a violation of probation.
Not only has rappers like Rick Ross been leading protest for upturn of his fellow rapper's released, but Roc Nation's mogul Jay-Z is holding no bar on the artist case.
The owner of digital music streaming company Tidal, released a statement to express his opinion on the sentence, which he blamed it on as how the "justice system entrap and harass young black people" daily.
"What’s happening to Meek Mill is just one example of how our criminal justice system entraps and harasses hundreds of thousands of black people every day."
Taxpayers...will have to spend tens of thousands of dollars each year to keep him locked up, and I bet none of them would tell you...because a judge overruled recommendations by a prosecutor and his probation officer that he doesn’t deserve more jail time," he said.
The Philly rapper probation case dated back to when he was 19-year-old when he was arrest for gun and drug possession.
However, fans have been calling for his release and there has been non-stop protest and signing of petition against the court ruling.
