EUFA's Disciplinary Body To Investigate Patrice Evra, Fan Outburst
Olympique de Marseille's Patrice Evra will face the UEFA's disciplinary body following an outburst between him and a fan for which he was sent out at the Europa Game against Guimaraes on Thursday.
The 36-year-old defender responded to yelling at him with a karate-style kick when the fan from the away end jeered at him saying: "Leave the OM!...You suck!". That actually was not all the fan said, as he seemed to called him names before the former Manchester United ace walked closer. and swiftly jerked his foot over the barrier to reach the abusive fan with a kick in the face.
However, the disciplinary body reportedly will be meeting on the France international's case and sources close to the body believed the ace would miss at least a match for the outburst.
On Marseille side, the club will also be investigating the incident according to statement released by the club.
"Olympique de Marseille has noted the altercation between an individual and Patrice Evra during the warm-up at the game against Guimaraes (Thursday), " the statement reads "an internal investigation has been opened to establish responsibilities."
The incident broke out before the kick off when the away fans went on to jeer at the Marseille team especially Evra which led to break-out of rage.
