Amazon Studios Announces Television Adaptation Of "Lord of the Rings"

Amazon Studios is delivering on its plan to bring about television adaptation of "Lord of the Rings", as it announced working is on-going with Tolkien Estate and Trust, HaperCollins and New Line on the project.
On Monday, the Studios' Head of Scripting Sharon Tal Yguado, revealed it has acquired right to late writer of the fantasy film JRR Tolkien's works, and has commenced work on its multi-season TV series.
"The Lord of the Rings is a cultural phenomenon that has captured the imagination of generations of fans through literature and the big screen. We are honoured to be working with the Tolkien Estate and Trust, HarperCollins and New Line on this exciting collaboration," Yguado said.
The Tolkien Estate also confirmed the development in a statement released by it representative Matt Galsor, who is also a publisher for HaperCollins.
"We are delighted that Amazon...Sharon and the team at Amazon Studios have exceptional ideas to bring to the screen previously unexplored stories based on JRR Tolkien's original writing," Matt said
