FIFA Increases World Cup Prize Money to $400 Million, Ratifies Some Important Decisions

The football governing council reportedly has increased prize money for the World Cup to $400 million, effective from 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia and ratified some important decisions.
The body announced the decision to increase prize money by 12 per cent from previous amount of $358 million at a meeting held in Kolkata, India.
According to body's own source, it has also approved of recommendations made by Bureau of the Council of 6 September 2017 to ratify the appointment of task force members for bidding evaluation and improving on bidding Regulations for 2026 World Cup bid.
Other decisions made at the meeting in Kolkata, were establishment of the FIFA Foundation, targeted at improving of the spot's social developmental initiates and inclusion in the game's legend in activities of the body including release of tournaments date which are as follows: 
  • FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup France 2018: 5 to 24 August 2018 
  • FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Uruguay 2018: 13 November to 1 December 2018 
  • FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2018: 12 to 22 December 2018 
  • FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019™: 7 June to 7 July 2019
